1. Who we are
Je Ka Jeun is a guided Nigerian food and culture tour through Peckham, in south London. Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean [registered company name], a company registered in England and Wales under company number [company number], with its registered address at [registered address]. “You” means the person making a booking and anyone in the party they are booking for.
You can reach us any time at info@jekajeun.com or on 07356250263.
2. About these terms
When you book a tour with us, you are agreeing to these terms on behalf of everyone in your party, so please give them a read and share anything relevant with the people joining you. If there is anything here you are unsure about, get in touch before you book and we will happily talk it through.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page at the moment you book.
3. Booking your place
Tours are booked in advance through our booking partner, [booking or ticketing partner]. Your place is confirmed once payment has gone through and you have received a confirmation by email. Spaces are limited and popular dates fill up, so booking early is always the safer bet.
Please double check your booking details when your confirmation arrives, including the date, the meeting point and the number of guests. If something does not look right, let us know straight away so we can put it right.
4. Prices and payment
The price per guest is shown at checkout before you pay, and it covers the tastings and inclusions listed for that tour. Prices are in pounds sterling and include any taxes that apply. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking through our booking partner.
Now and again we run special editions or private tours that are priced differently. Where that is the case, the price and what it covers will be made clear before you book.
5. If you need to change or cancel
Life happens, and we understand plans change. If you need to move to another date or cancel, please tell us as early as you can by emailing info@jekajeun.com.
Cancellations made at least [cancellation window, for example 48 hours] before the tour start time are eligible for [refund terms, for example a full refund or a transfer to another date]. Because food is bought fresh and portions are prepared for your group, cancellations closer to the tour than that are [late cancellation terms, for example non refundable]. If you simply cannot make it on the day, do let us know, as we will always try to help where we reasonably can.
6. If we need to change or cancel
Very occasionally we may need to change a tour, for reasons such as a venue being unavailable, low numbers or something outside our control. Where that happens we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you an alternative date or a full refund.
The tour route, participating vendors and specific dishes are a sample of the experience and can vary from tour to tour. Swapping a stop or a dish is a normal part of how a living, local experience works, and is not a reason for a refund on its own.
7. What is included
Your ticket covers a guided walking tour of roughly [tour duration], hosted by a local guide, with a series of Nigerian food tastings and drinks along the way, plus the stories, introductions and neighbourhood context that make up the experience. The exact inclusions for your tour are listed on the booking page.
Travel to and from the meeting point, and anything you choose to buy on top of the tastings provided, is not included.
8. Food, allergies and dietary needs
Good food is the heart of what we do, and we want everyone at the table to enjoy it safely. If you have allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements, please tell us at the time of booking and again by email to info@jekajeun.com so we have as much notice as possible.
We will always do our best to accommodate you, but the food is prepared by independent kitchens and vendors, and we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from a given allergen or from cross contamination. If you have a severe allergy, please treat our tastings with the same care you would any meal out, and speak to your guide on the day.
9. Alcohol
Some tours include alcoholic drinks as part of the tastings. If that is the case for your tour, you will need to be at least 18 years old and may be asked for proof of age. There is no pressure to drink, and there are always alcohol free options, so everyone is looked after either way.
10. Children and younger guests
We love welcoming families, and children are [welcome on our tours, subject to any minimum age of [minimum age]]. Younger guests must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Whether a child needs their own ticket, and any age related details, will be shown on the booking page.
11. Getting around and accessibility
Je Ka Jeun is a walking tour that covers a fair bit of ground across Peckham at a relaxed pace, with stops along the way. If you have any mobility, access or health needs, please contact us before booking at info@jekajeun.com and we will give you honest, specific information about the route, the walking distance, seating and facilities, so you can decide whether it is right for you.
We would rather have that conversation early than have you arrive unsure, so please do reach out.
12. Weather
Our tours go ahead in most weather, so we would suggest comfortable shoes and an eye on the forecast, since a good bit of the day is spent outdoors and on foot. If we ever need to make changes for safety in severe weather, we will let you know and set out your options.
13. Photography and filming
We sometimes take photos and short videos on tour to share the experience and promote Je Ka Jeun. If you would prefer not to appear in anything we capture, just let your guide know on the day and we will make sure to respect that. If you take your own photos, please be considerate of other guests, our hosts and the businesses we visit.
14. Being part of the group
A Je Ka Jeun tour is a shared, sociable experience, and a warm welcome runs both ways. We ask that you treat your fellow guests, our hosts and the local businesses we visit with respect and good humour. We want everyone to feel comfortable, so we reserve the right to end the tour for anyone whose behaviour puts the safety or enjoyment of others at risk, without a refund.
15. Gift vouchers
Where we offer gift vouchers, they can be redeemed against a tour of the same value, are valid for [voucher validity period], and cannot be exchanged for cash. Any specific voucher terms will be shown at the point of purchase.
16. Our responsibility to you
We take real care in running our tours, and we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for anything outside our reasonable control, or for losses that were not foreseeable.
You take part in the tour, including walking, eating and drinking, at your own discretion, and you are responsible for your own belongings during the day. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales.
17. Your privacy
We only use your personal information to run your booking, keep you informed, and, where you have asked us to, send you news about upcoming tours. Our privacy policy explains exactly what we collect and how we look after it.
18. Complaints and getting in touch
If anything about your experience falls short, we genuinely want to hear about it, and we will do our best to make it right. Please email info@jekajeun.com with the details and your booking reference, and we will respond as quickly as we can.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If any part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest of them still apply.
